The highlight of the symposium in DC was, without a doubt, meeting all the incredible Fulbrighters and being inspired by their individual projects that showcased global learning in such diverse and meaningful ways. Each project was a testament to the power of education in bridging cultures, addressing challenges, and fostering a deeper understanding of the world. It was amazing to see how each of us, though coming from different backgrounds and regions, are united by a common goal—to create impactful, globally minded learning experiences for our students.

Was the 10-hour plane ride from Hawaii to D.C. long? Yes.

Was it worth it to finally see my Fulbright Cohort in person for the first time? ABSOLUTELY!

I left the symposium feeling more energized than ever, eager to take what I’ve learned and weave it into my teaching and leadership. And now, the countdown is here—I can’t wait till summer when our Uruguay adventure begins!
